gone trekin.

for something i entirely loathed four years ago, and refused to never do again. i was astonished at how much fun i had on trek. in fact it might be my second favorite thing i've done this summer.

i especially loved my family. they were amazing and we had a blast together. our experiences on trek consisted of..sitting on a school bus for 6 hours.. and we walked...and walked...and waited...and walked...and walked...and walked...and waited...and walked...and walked...and hydrated...maybe urinated (had to GO)...and walked...and walked...and walked...and pushed...BAGER HOLE!!! and pulled...and walked...and walked...and got rabies...and walked...and walked... and walked...and slept??? and walked...and walked... and walked... and blistered...and walked...and bled... and laughed...and cried...and walked... and screamed...and walked... and tents collapsed...and walked...and "iv"ed... and walked... and walked...and got wet...and walked... and ate...and walked... and got dehydrated...and "half-wayed"...and walked... and walked... and walked... and star tripped...and walked... at least we're not dead... yet. 

i love you anderson family! and our adventures (: thanks for helping me see that i can do hard things. and that i also don't have to do hard things alone.

small town.

This weekend has been one of the funnest weekends I've had all summer. I found I really love my job, and the people I work with. (especially jake. he's attractive). I also found that small towns maybe aren't as bad as I thought they were. 

Up in Cache Valley there is a tiny little town called Mendon. To get there you have to drive past the dump, and the swamps. But it's a pretty little town, and I mean gorgeous. the landscape is lovely. This little town called Mendon happens to be where my father grew up. I know your asking why would I care? And you probably don't. But, I've had the opportunity to be living up in Mendon at my uncle's house. It's been a blast. Especially this weekend. Because it was the annual Mendon Pioneer Day Celebration. And I should be completely honest. I usually hate dumb celebrations like this. But this celebration made an exception to the rule. I spent the day hanging out with my Dad's two brothers sand their families. And not to mention being dragged all over the place so Andy could introduce me to people. That wasn't much of an introduction. because he'd just ask people. "Do you know who this is?" "This is Mark's daughter." and then people would start in on stories about my dad. and saying i knew you when you were just this big. and they'd put there hand down in measurement of about the height of a three year old. and then they'd say, tell your dad hello. just about everyone in that town told me to say hi to dad. haha. I even met my dad's two best friends growing up. weird. anyway, I really am getting to the good part. My cousin who's my age finally took pity on me, and rescued me from the adults. He was kind enough to let me hang out with all his friends. Which I'm not going to lie was terribly awkward at first. Because they all knew each other. and I only know my cousin. so I was unfortunately the odd one out. but as the night wore on, I got talking to his one friend a lot. And after the fireworks he asked me for my number. yes (: a boy asked me for my number. total movie moment. I'm excited. I have at least one friend up there! and he's a cute boy! What more could a girl ask for?

I guess what I'm getting at is, I'm really enjoying living in Cache Valley. And i'm not so worried about making friends anymore. 

ohh the places you'll go.

i'm moving. 

and i thought i was ready.

but,

now i'm not so sure.

i'm not good at goodbyes.

and i'm definitely not ready to say goodbye to all my friends.

this hit me yesterday. 

as i was having maybe my last summer party with some of my close friends.

which i really hope it wasn't the last.

hopefully when i come home on weekends.. i'll still see all these hooligans.

because i really will miss them all terribly!

my life is going to change so much in the next couple weeks, it's unfathomable. 

i'm feeling a mix of emotions.

i'm scared out of my mind.

i'm so excited i can't contain it.

i'm anxious i'll be lonely.

i'm ready to adventure.

i'm scared i'll fail.

i'm dying to live a life of my own.

i'm not ready to let go of the life i live now.

i want to meet new people.

i don't want to lose the people i'm leaving behind.

i want to be independent.

i still want to be dependent.

i think, i'm going to be okay with the move, eventually. 

just not at this particular moment. 

here's to the new adventure. ready or not.

2011 park city bucket list

1: sleep out on the deck

we only were a little bit cold.. hahaa but hey it was so worth it.. maybe.. hahaa the one night there was a random baby crying at like one in the morning.. we could have possibly woke the poor thing up.. but still.. and then the night kinnah woke me up like three times.. cause she apparently heard something in the bushes.. hahaa i vaguely remember yelling at her to just go to bed.. hahahaa










2: stalk cute boys on main street

see that young man with the hat.. (the one inside the store.. not the ones outside...) he was the cutest one we found... and let's be real.. he wasn't even that cute.. it was quite a bummer..






3: make a random craft
(this one was a fail.. it went uncompleted..)

4: have a photo shoot

not some of the best pictures i've taken.. but whateves.. i'm mostly over it.. okay not really.. i need to step up my game..








5: go inside the boogie man's house

 as you can see.. you go through the creeper door here.. and well in the pictures below.. you kinda see how creepy it is inside.. and how scared we were. umm can i just tell you it smelled like death in there.. yucky. the boogie man is in desperate need of a shower.. and some deep cleaning.. just saying. ohh and the picture of the three of us.. that would be my grandmas favorite picture. and i promise you i don't always look like a beast.. only most of the time.. and no we didn't pee our pants.. hahaa hannah came close though.. hahaa just kidding.

6: shop until we drop

six hours of shopping.. yuck. hahaa it was okay for the first two hours. then it just got a bit out of control..







7: call a boy on our contact lists.

 umm yeah.. let's get this clear right now.. this was totally mckinnah's idea.. and let's just say.. this only made me feel like a loser.. hahahaa because the guy i selected.. didn't even answer.. ha and i love that my cousin that is three years younger than me has a boyfriend that she can call.. and i don't hahaa makes me feel pretty cool...

8: write all our friends letters and send them in the mail

this was my personal favorite (: i felt so old fashioned!! hahaa our aunts and grandma made fun of us cause we didn't know how to use the mail system.. but guess what. now we're pretty much professional at the whole letter thing. (: seeing as i wrote like 12 kinnah wrote like 10 and hannah wrote 8.

9: watch the help

okay everyone listen up. go see this movie. it is amazing. and i encourage you to all read the book too. if you haven't. it's pretty much a life changing experience. at least it was for me. i'm telling you this is definitely in my top ten favorite movies.. i love it!!!!





10: go to the cow store! because it's the best!

everyone must go to this store. (: it's pretty much the greatest thing e.v.e.r. i absolutely l.o.v.e this store!! but then again i am a bit obsessed with cows. don't ask me why. cause that's a whole other story that i don't really care to share at the moment.. hahaa









11: get shakes and/or ice cream

mmm ice cream!! and guess where we got it...? the cow store of course!!! mmm it was quite tasty. and yes ice cream did get all over my pants, face, hands, and camera. i'm a messy eater what can i say...?



12: make some kind of treat

 oreos on a fork (: mmmmm don't even worry we went through 4 packages of oreos. 3 cool mint. 1 regular to be exact. (: and special thanks to taresa who bought us the cutest little forks. so we could eat the oreos the right way!

15: have a picnic
(this would also be a fail.. but lets be real we just didn't think that through... mckinnah.. ha we always go out to lunch.. how are we supposed to picnic..?)

(fail. although i still think that one robot movie that never ends was pretty creeptastic.. but whatever)

18: draw with chalk

we traced ourselves on the road. hahaa we even got aunt sarah and aunt heather to join in (: hahaa priceless!! and check out how yucky our feet got.. yeah i wanted to puke.. but hey mine aren't as bad as mckinnah's are.. and she was chilling in the road.

hahahaa and that was quite priceless.. she told me to tell her if a car came. so i thought hey i'll be funny and yell car!!! hahahaa i never saw someone freak out so much in my life.. hahaa


19: try stuff on in stores and take pictures
(fail.. we were so done with shopping that we were all butt hurt and in a bad mood.. hahaa)

20: sew
(i was really butt hurt that we didn't get to this one.. but there wasn't really room on the table.. and well we just were real busy..)

21: do sit ups at midnight thirty
( okay we always fell asleep right before this one could take place. but i did do 30 day shred with sarah! and we went on a 4 mile run (: )

22: paint nails

we also rode the trolly and i had the cutest pictures. (stupid computer that won't let me upload my pictures.)
